Year 4 Inter-Class Dodgeball Tournament

On Monday 2nd December 2019, 40 Year 4 pupils took part in an Inter-Year Group Dodgeball tournament at HCPS in our main hall. The children were put into 4 teams which were as followed: The Pro Dodgers, Quick Fire, The Silly Dodgers and The Roaring Lions. Each team played a total of 6 matches, lasting 5 minutes long. Points were awarded to the team depending on how many players they managed to get out of the opposition. The results are as followed:

1st Place - Quick Fire (22 points)

2nd Place - The Pro Dodgers (21 points)

3rd Place - The Roaring Lions (18 points)

4th Place - The Silly Dodgers (15 points)

 

Under 9's Girls Futsal Festival

On Thursday 28th November 2019, Hadleigh CPS entered a Year 4 team into the Under 9's Girls Ipswich Schools Futsal Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 10 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 1 where we played matches against St. Pancras, Britannia, St. Helens and Bucklesham. Throughout the league matches, the girls were fantastic and worked really well as a team! Hadleigh finished the festival winning 3 games (7-0, 2-0 and 2-1) and losing 1 game (2-0) overall. This was a great effort by our girls which they should be really proud of! Well done girls! 

 

 

 

Under 9's Tag Rugby Festival

On Monday 25th November 2019, we participated in the Under 9's Ipswich Schools Tag Rugby Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground. There were 14 schools that took part in total. We were put into Group 1 where we played matches against Handford Hall, St. Mary's Ipswich, Dale Hall, The Oaks, Colneis, Cedarwood and Henley.  Our Year 4's were on top form all afternoon with their speed, agility and ball distribution. Everybody was getting stuck in as well as making sure all the players were involved whih was great to see! Because of this, Hadleigh managed to finish the festival undefeated, managing to win all 7 of their matches which a fantastic achievement! Well done Year 4, a brilliant performance!

 

 

 

Under 11's Table Tennis Festival

On Friday 22nd November 2019, we entered 2 teams into the Under 11's Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Table Tennis Festival. There were 5 teams in total. They were: Hadleigh 1, Hadleigh 2, Elmsett, Hintlesham and Whatfield. Each participant played 4 matches with each match being made up of 3 sets. The winner of each set was determined to would reach 11 points first. Both Hadleigh teams had great fun, with a competitive edge being produced in all their matches. With a combined score of 114 points, Hadleigh 1 finished 5th, and with a combined score of 17 points, Hadleigh 2 finished 4th. Well done Year 5!

 

 

 

Under 11's Boys Futsal Festival

On Thursday 21st November 2019, Hadleigh CPS entered a Year 5 team into the Under 11's Ipswich Schools Futsal Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 12 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 1 where we played matches against Cedarwood, Halifax, Bucklesham and St. Margarets. Throughout the league matches, the boys played some silky futsal, defending and attacking as a team positively! Hadleigh finished the festival winning 2 games (4-1 and 3-2) and losing 2 games (5-0 and 2-1) overall. This resulted in the boys finishing 3rd in their group. Well done boys, a great performance! 

 

 

 

Under 11's Girls Futsal Festival

On Thursday 14th November 2019, Hadleigh CPS entered a team into the Under 11's Girls Ipswich Schools Futsal Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 12 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 2 where we played matches against The Oaks, Claydon, Whitehouse, The Willows and Ranelagh. Throughout the league matches, the girls played brilliantly, managing to win all 5 of their matches, scoring a total of 12 goals and conceding just 1! This sent the girls through to the final where they came up against Sidegate. Despite continuous efforts at the Sidegate goal, their goal-keeper was unbeatable, and as a result of this, Hadleigh unfortunately lost 1-0. This meant the girls finished the competition as runners-up which was still an excellent achievement! Well done girls!

 

 

Year 6 Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Tag Rugby Festival

On Friday 8th November 2019, we participated in the Year 5/6 Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Tag Rugby at Hadleigh High School. There were 7 schools at the festival in total. The other 6 competing schools were: Beaumont, St. Mary's, Hintlesham, Whatfield, Elmsett and Bildeston. This was a round robin festival, meaning every team played eachother during a 10 minute match. Despite the miserable, cold and very wet weather, our the Year 6's were on top form all morning with their speed, agility and ball distribution, considering the tricky conditions. Because of this, Hadleigh managed to finish the festival undefeated, managing to win 5 of their matches and draw 1. Well done Year 6, a great performance!

 

 

 

Year 5/6 Inter-Year Group Tag Rugby Tournament

On Monday 14th October 2019, over 60 Year 5/6 pupils took part in an Inter-Year Group Tag Rugby tournament at HCPS on our school field. During the Autumn term, both our Year 5's and Year 6's had impressed us with their skill, knowledge and enthusiasm for fast-paced sport in their PE lessons, lunchtime and afterschool clubs. Because of this, we decided to host an afterschool tournament for both year groups. All the children thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon or competitive tag rugby matches. A big well done to the red team (Year 5 competition) and the green team (Year 6 competition) for being crowned overall winners!

 

 

 

Under 11's Girls Football Festival

On Tuesday 15th October 2019, Hadleigh CPS entered a team into the Under 11's Girls Football Festival at Whitton Sports Centre. There were a total of 15 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 3 where we played matches against Hillside, St. Pancras, The Willows and Claydon. The girl played fantastic as a team throughout the league games, managing to win all 4 of their matches. This sent the team through to the semi-finals where they came up against The Oaks. The girls carried on their good run of form, managing to come out 2-0 winners. This meant the girls progressed into the final where they met Dale Hall. Unfortunately, Dale Hall came out on top win a 2-0 victory. This meant the girls finished the tournament as runners-up which was an excellent achievement! Well done girls!

 

 

Under 11's Boys Football Festival

On Thursday 3rd October 2019, Hadleigh CPS entered a team in the Under 11's Football Festival at Whitton Sports Centre. There were a total of 24 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 3 where we played matches against Hillside, Shotley, Hillside and Stratford St. Mary's. The boys put on a great show throughout the league games, managing to win 2 matches and draw the other 2. This sent the team through to the semi-finals where they came up against Dale Hall. Unfortunately, Dale Hall came out on top win a narrow 1-0 victory. Nevertheless, the boys had a great time and performed well as a team. Well done Year 6!

 

 

Under 9's & Under 11's Cross Country Event

On Friday 20th September 2019, we took 32 pupils to compete in the Year 3/4 & 5/6 Cross Country event at Hadleigh High School. There were 8 schools that entered the event. They were: Hintlesham, Elmsett, Beaumont, Kersey, Whatfield, St. Mary's and Bildeston. For the Under 9's race, the runners had to cover a distance of 600 metres, while the Under 11's runners had to cover a distance if 1,500 metres. There were around 220 children in total competing that morning, meaning there were around 60 runners in all 4 races. . All of the HCPS pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with some of them asking if they could run the race again! Overall, our Under 9's team managed to win the event and our Under 11's team managed to finish runners-up! This was a fantastic achievement by all of our runners! Well done to all of them!

 

KS2 Primary Panathlon County Finals

On Wednesday 10th July 2019, Thomas and Samuel took part in the Primary Schools Panathlon County Finals at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre, Stowmarket. Like the Ipswich Finals, the boys joined together with 2 pupils from Whatfield and 3 pupils from Bildeston, and were put into Team Grey. During the day, the team remained as a group, rotating around a carousel of core skills that included sending, receiving and striking activities. Points were collected by the team during each activity station. Some of these activities included: Bean Bag Throw, Boccia Blast, New Age Kurling and Basketball Shootout. Both Thomas and Samuel had a great day and loved every activity. The team did fantastically and as a result of this, managed to finish 3rd overall. The team were presented with bronze medals and certificates. Well done boys, a great achievement!

 

 

 

 

Under 11's Quadkids County Finals

On Thursday 4th July 2019, our Year 5/6 athletics team took part in the Under 11's Quadkids County Finals at West Suffolk Athletics Arena in Bury St. Edmunds. Out of the 150 schools that had entered the Suffolk Quadkids festivals, there were 24 schools that had made it to this stage of the competition. Like the Ipswich festival, every athlete was asked to compete in the following 4 events: Standing Long Jump, 600 Metres, Javelin Throw and the 75 Metre Sprint. Each athlete was awarded points in every event. The further they threw, the further they jumped and the quicker they ran, the more points each athlete was awarded. 

In most of the events, all of our athletes managed to achieve personal bests which was fantastic! After another enjoyable and hot day, Hadleigh managed to finish 17th overall! Out of 150 schools, 17th place was an great achievement for all of our athletes. Well done Year 5/6! 

 

 

Under 11's Quadkids Festival

On Wednesday 26th June 2019, our Year 5/6 athletics team competed in the Under 11's Quadkids festival at Northgate High School. There were over 40 schools that took part in this event, therefore meaning that over 400 children all competed against eachother. Every athlete was asked to compete in the following 4 events: Standing Long Jump, 600 Metres, Javelin Throw and the 75 Metre Sprint. Each athlete was awarded points in every event. The further they threw, the further they jumped and the quicker they ran, the more points each athlete was awarded. 

After an enjoyable and tiring afternoon, Hadleigh managed to finish a fantastic 7th overall! With the top 8 schools qualifying for next round, we now await the Quadkids County Finals at West Suffolk Athletics Arena at Bury St. Edmunds on Thursday 4th July. Well done athletes!

 

 

Under 11's Pyramid Schools Cricket Festival

On Wednesday 19th June 2019, our Year 5 cricket team took part in the Hadleigh Pyramids Under 11's Cricket Festival at Hadleigh Cricket Club. St. Mary's, Whatfield, Hintlesham and Bildeston also had entered the festival. The competition was made up of a round robin, meaning everyone played everyone. Throughout the afternoon, our Year 5's thoroughly enjoyed themselves by having lots of fun, but still playing with a competitive edge. Hadleigh managed to win all 4 of their matches against each school, resulting in our Year 5 team winning the festival. Well done Year 5!

 

 

 

 

 

Year 6 Ipswich Schools Cricket Festival

On Tuesday 18th June 2019, we took part in the Under 11's Cricket Festival at St. Joseph's College. There were a total of 8 primary schools that had entered the festival. Hadleigh were put into League 2 where we played matches against Copdock, Morland and St. Dale Hall. The boys produced a great team effort at both batting and bowling at their opponents, managing to win both of their opening league matches. Unfortunately, we fell just 7 runs short against Dale Hall, meaning we went through to the 3rd and 4th place play-off match. The boys continued their good run of form from their opening league matches and managed to overcome a strong Shotley team. This resulted in Hadleigh finishing 3rd overall in competition. Well done boys, a great effort!

 

 

 

Under 11's Multiskills Festival

On Friday 14th June 2019, we took 10 Year 5 pupils to participate in the Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Under 11's Multiskills Festival at Hadleigh High School. Within this festival, the boys and girls were mixed up with other boys and girls from different schools. Once in their teams, they competed in 8 different events. Some of these activities included javelin throw, space hopper slalom, hurdles and bean bag throw. All of the children had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their morning. Well done Year 5!

 

 

 

 

KS1 and KS2 Gymnastics County Finals

On Friday 7th June 2019, our KS1 and KS2 Gymnastics teams took part in the Key Steps Gymnastics County Finals competition at Gainsborough Sports Centre. This was a result of KS1 team finishing 3rd overall and our KS2 team finishing 2nd overall in the Ipswich Schools competition back in May 2019. All the KS1 teams had to perform 2 different elements, a floor exercise routine and a vault. All the KS2 teams had to perform 3 different elements, a body management routine, a floor exercise routine and a vault. 

After another fantastic performance following up from the Ipswich Schools competition, our KS2 team managed to finish 6th overall. Our KS1 also performed brilliantly throughout their 2 elements, and as a result of this, managed to win the whole competition! This means they are now through to the regional finals in July! Well done both teams, a phenomenal achievement!

 

 

KS1 and KS2 Gymnastics Competitions

On Friday 3rd May 2019, our KS1 and KS2 Gymnastics teams took part in the  Key Steps Gymnastics competition at Westbourne Academy. There were 11 schools that had entered the KS1 competition, and 12 schools that had entered the KS2 competition. All teams that entered into the KS1 event had to perform 2 different elements, a floor exercise routine and a vault. All teams that entered the KS2 event had to perform 3 different elements, a body management routine, a floor exercise routine and a vault. 

After an excellent performance in all of their elements by both teams, our KS1 squad finished 3rd overall and our KS2 team finished 2nd overall which was a huge success. This meant that both our KS1 and KS2 team progress to the county finals, which take place on June 7th at Gainsborough Sports Centre. Well done everyone!

 

 

 

 

Year 5/6 Girls Tag Rugby Festival

On Monday 29th April 2019, our Year 5/6 girls team took part in the Under 11's Girls Tag Rugby Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground. There were 12 schools in total that entered the event. They were Colneis, Sproughton, Cedarwood, Henley, Shotley, St. John's, Heath, Gusford, St. Mary's Ipswich, Causton and Ipswich High School. Hadleigh were into League 1 where they played a total of 5 matches against Colneis, St. Mary's Ipswich, Henley, St. John's and Heath. The girls performed brilliantly as a team and went on to finish the festival undefeated, managing to win 4 matches and draw 1! A fantastic performance from the whole team which they should be proud of. Well done Year 5/6!

 

 

 

Year 4 Handball Festival

On Thursday 25th April 2019, we entered a Year 4 team into the Under 9's Handball Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were 9 other primary schools at the event. They were Colneis, Claydon, Grundisburgh, Britannia, Beaumont, Bealings, St. Mary's Ipswich, East Bergholt and Tattingstone. Hadleigh played a total of 4 matches against Claydon, Colneis, St. Mary's Ipswich and Bealings. Amazingly, our Year 4 team went on to win all 4 games, winning 11-0, 11-1, 7-0, 5-1! A top performance from our whole team who all thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon of Handball. Well done Year 4!

 

 

 

 

Year 4/5/6 Cross Country Event

On Wednesday 3rd April 2019, HCPS entered 24 Year 4/5/6 pupils in the annual Cross Country event which took place at Royal Hospital School. There were 6 races altogether that made up the competition. They were the Year 4 boys race, the Year 4 girls race, the Year 5 boys race, the Year 5 girls race, the Year 6 boys race and the Year 6 girls race. The Year 4 races were ran over a distance of 1,500 metres and the Year 5/6 races were 2,200 metres in distance. Each race consisted of 250 or more other pupils that were also taking part. We are pleased to announce that all of the children finished in the top half in their respected races which was brilliant! A special mention would like to go out to Elise (Year 5), Olivia (Year 5), Riley (Year 5), Alex (Year 6) and Lewis (Year 6) who all finished in the top 10 of their respected races. Well done Year 4, 5 and 6, a fantastic effort!

The boys joined together with 2 pupils from Whatfield and 3 pupils from Bildeston, and were put into Team Green. Under 11's Quicksticks Festival

On Monday 18th March 2019, we entered 2 teams into the Under 11's Quicksticks Festival at St. Joseph's College. There were a total of 20 teams that took part in this competition. Hadleigh A were put into League 3 where they played matches against St. Pancras, Hillside and Dale Hall. Hadleigh B were put into League 2 where they played matches against St. Mary's Woodbridge, Claydon A, Gusford and The Oaks B. After some hard fought games and showing a great display of skill and creativity on the pitch, both teams managed to finished 2nd in their respected groups. Hadleigh A finished the competition with 2 wins and 1 loss, meaning they scored a total of 11 points. Hadleigh B finished the festival with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, meaning they scored a total of 14 points! Well done Year 5/6, a great effort!

 

 

Under 7's Dodgeball Festival

On Thursday 7th March 2019,  our Year 2 dodgeball team took part in the Under 7's Dodgeball Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 9 schools at this event. The 8 other schools were: Halifax, Gusford, Rushmere Hall, Beaumont, Britannia, Morland, Stratford St. Mary's and Kersey.

Throughout the morning, the squad thoroughly enjoyed every match they played in, managing to win 7 matches and draw 1. This meant the team finished the festival undefeated which was a brilliant effort! Well done Year 2!

Under 11's Girls Futsal County Finals

On Wednesday 27th February 2019, our Year 5 girls team took part in the Under 11's Girls Futsal County Finals at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 6 schools that participated in the event. They were: Read Oaks, Glemsford, Horringer Court, Britannia and Old Hemstead. We were put into Group B, meaning we played matches against Old Hemstead and Glemsford. The girls played brilliantly during those 2 matches, managing to draw 0-0 and win 4-0. This meant we finished top of our group which took us through to the final where we met Read Oaks. After a thrilling match, Read Oaks just came out on top 4-3 winners. This meant Hadleigh finished runners-up in the county. A fantastic achievement by the whole team! Well done girls!

 

 

Year 5/6 Gymnastics Competitions

It's been a busy week for our gymnasts with two competitions in one week!

They came 3rd in the Under 11's Essex competition at Richard de Clare, Halstead.

Then at the Milano Trio Competition held at The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, our teams came 6th and 12th.

We are very proud of their performances and hard work training for this event!

 

 

Year 5/6 Swimming Gala

On Monday 4th February 2019, HCPS took part the Hadleigh Schools Swimming Gala at Hadleigh Leisure Centre. There were a total of 8 schools that entered the competition altogether. The schools were: Hadleigh, Elmsett, Bildeston, St. Mary's, Whatfield, Hintlesham, Kersey and Stoke By-Nayland. Each school competed in backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke and relay races. Throughout the whole afternoon, the atmosphere that all the children created inside the Leisure Centre was electric. As a result of our team swimming brilliantly, we managed to win the whole competition. We now await County Finals in the Summer Well done Year 5 & 6! 

 

 

 

Year 5/6 Futsal Festival

On Thursday 31st January 2019, we entered a Year 5 team into the Year 5/6 Futsal festival at Inspire Suffolk. We were put into Group A where we played against Causton, Hollesley and Ranelagh. Hadleigh played fantastically as a team throughout the group games, and were rewarded by winning all 3 matches 6-0, 5-0 and 1-0. This meant our girls were through to the play-offs where they came up against Bealings and Whitton. Hadleigh continued their fine form in the play-offs, managing to beat Bealings 2-0, and Whitton 1-0. This not only meant our girls team won the competition and were rewarded with winners certificates and a trophy, but we are also through to the first ever County Finals in Under 11's Girls Futsal. Well done Year 5!

 

 

Year 5/6 EFL Cup Journey

On Tuesday 22nd January 2019, we entered a Year 5/6 team into the Under 11's EFL Cup at Ipswich Town Football Club. We were put into Group D where we played matches against: Cedarwood, Rose Hill, Dale Hall, The Oaks and Britannia B. Our boys played fanstaticly throughout the group matches and managed to win all 5! This took them through to the Quarter-finals where they met Whitton. After another convincing performance, Hadleigh came out 2-0 winners! This meant Hadleigh qualified for next week's Super 8's competition.

On Tuesday 29th January 2019, Hadleigh competed against 7 others schools that had made it to this stage of the cup. The team were: Britannia A, Morland, Pakefield, Colneis, Sidegate, Sebertwood and Bealings. The football on display was of a high qualify with all teasm having to be at their best levels. Respectively, Hadleigh finished the competition with 10 points, managing to beat Colneis, Sebertwood and Morland, losing mataches against Sidegate, Britannia A and Pakefield, and drawing 1 game with Bealings. A top effort by our whole team. Well done boys!

 

Year 5/6 Trampoline Taster Morning

On Wednesday 25th January 2019, we invited a selected amount of Year 5/6 children to take part in a trampolining taster morning, led by Sarah Clarke from Hadleigh High School's PE Department. From this, the children had a thoroughly enjoyable morning while learning different moves and skills they can acheive on the trampoline. Our Year 5/6's would like to say a big thankyou to Sarah Clarke for making the morning very fun and enjoyable. 

 

 

 

 

Under 9's Futsal Festival

On Thursday 17th January 2019, our Year 4 Futsal team took part in the Under 9's Futsal Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 11 schools that had entered the festival. We were put into Group B where we played matches against Halifax, Whitton, Claydon, Causton and Stratford St. Mary . All the boys and girls had a great time, while at the same time, playing competitively against the other teams. As a result of their 5 matches, Hadleigh managed to win 4 games and lose 1. Overall the team managed to score a total of 19 goals altogether which was brilliant! Well done Year 4, a top effort!

 

 

 

HCPS Awarded Gold Kitemark Award

The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme which was launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark. We as a school decided we wanted to apply and achieve the Gold Kitemark Award this year. After filling in the application criteria using last year's success in sport, we are thrilled to say we have been awarded the Gold School Games Award. A big thankyou to Ali Furlong for coming into assembly and awarding our school with this great achievement.

 

 

 

Year 5/6 Indoor Sportshall Athletics Festival

On Friday 11th January 2019, we entered a Year 5 team into the Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics festival at Hadleigh High School. There were 6 other schools participating in the competition. They were St. Mary's, Whatfield, Elmsett, Beaumont, Bildeston and Hintlesham. During the morning, each boy and girl took part in 2 track and 2 field events. These events ranged from relays, obstacle races, throwing events and jumping events. Throughout the entire morning, all the children were kept busy, competing against children from other schools. After all the enjoyable events had finished, the results were announced. Our boys and girls both managed to finish in 1st place in their respected events, which meant overall, Hadleigh C.P.S won the competition. Well done to all the Year 5's that took part, a fantastic effort!

On Thursday 6th December 2018, we took 18 of our Year 5/6 pupils to compete in the Indoor Sportshall Athletics event at Westbourne Academy. There were 11 schools in total at this competition. They were: Sidegate, Dale Hall, The Oaks, Halifax, East Bergholt, Sproughton, Witnesham, Whitehouse and Somersham and The Heath. Each athlete took part in 4 events, ranging from sprints, long distance running, jumping events, obstacle races and throwing events. As there were over 250 children competing in the same sportshall, the atmosphere was immense! After an enjoyable afternoon of races and events, Hadleigh CPS finished 3rd which was fantastic. Well done to all the boys and girls who took part!

 

 

Year 5 Ipswich Schools Dodgeball Festival

On Thursday 22nd November 2018,  our Year 5 dodgeball team took part in the Under 11's Dodgeball Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 6 schools at this event. The 5 other schools were: Grundisburgh, Halifax,  St Mary's Ipswich, Britannia and Beaumont.

Throughout the morning, the squad thoroughly enjoyed every match they played in, managing to win 5 matches and lose 1 match. This was a brilliant result which all the players were very pleased with. Well done Year 5!

 

 

Year 4 Ipswich Schools Dodgeball Festival

On Thursday 15th November 2018,  our Year 4 dodgeball team took part in the Under 9's Dodgeball Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 10 schools at this event. The 9 other schools were: Grundisburgh, Ipswich High, Halifax, Sandlings, St Mary's Ipswich, Britannia, Morland, Stratford St. Mary's, Kyson and Otley.

Throughout the morning, the squad thoroughly enjoyed every match they played in, managing to win 6 matches, draw 1 match and lose 2 matches. This was a great result overall and something that the team should be very proud of. Well done Year 4!

 

 

Year 6 Ipswich Schools Tag Rugby Festival

On Tuesday 6th November 2018, we entered a team into the Under 11's Ipswich Schools at St. Joseph's College. There were over 20 schools that had decided to entered the festival, meaning there was nearly 200 children at this particular event. Hadleigh were put into Group C were they would play matches against East Bergholt, Dale Hall, Hillside, Springfield, The Oaks and Halifax. Once again, our Year 6's were brilliantly at finding gaps through the defences or other teams and defending as a team. Because of this, Hadleigh managed to win 6 of their group matches which was a fantastic achievement. Mr Peters was not only impressed with the team's attitude and all-round performances throughout the afternoon, but was also incredibly proud! Outstanding work Year 6's! 

 

 

 

 

Year 6 HHS Tag Rugby Festival

On Friday 2nd November 2018, we participated in the Year 5/6 Hadleigh Pyramid Schools at Hadleigh High School. There were 7 schools at the festival in total. As well as us, the other schools were: Beaumont, St. Mary's A, St. Mary's B, Whatfield, Elmsett and Bildeston. This was a round robin festival, meaning every team played eachother during a 10 minute match. Hadleigh were on top form all morning with their speed, agility and ball distribution, and with this, managed to win all 6 of their matches. Well done Year 6, a great performance!

 

 

 

 

 

Year 2 Futsal Festival

On Thursday 1st November 2018, we entered a team into the Under 7's Futsal Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were 7 other schools that entered the festival. They were: Halifax, East Bergholt A, East Bergholt B, Trimley St. Mary, Chelmondiston, Sandlings and Morland . All the boys and girls had a great time, while at the same time, playing competitively against the other teams. in total, Hadleigh managed to win 5 matches, draw 1 match and lose 1 match. They also managed to score a total of 22 goals altogether which was brilliant! Well done Year 2, an awesome achievement!

 

 

 

Under 9's Girls Football Festival

On Thursday 18th October 2018, Hadleigh CPS entered a team in the Under 9's Girls Football Festival at Ipswich Town Football Club. There were a total of 14 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 3 where we played matches against St. Mary's Woodbridge, Gusford, East Bergholt, Chelmondiston and Ipswich High. The girls played brilliantly throughout the afternoon, managing to win 3 games and draw 2 games, resulting in the team finishing the festival undefeated. Well done girls, a great achievement!

 

 

 

 

 

Year 5/6 Cross Country Event

On Friday 12th October 2018, we took 12 pupils to compete in the Year 5/6 Cross Country event at Hadleigh High School. There were 8 schools that entered the event. They were: Hintlesham, Elmsett, Beaumont, Kersey, Whatfield, St. Mary's and Bildeston. For both the boys and girls race, the children had to run a distance of 2,500 metres. There were around 200 children in total competing that morning . All of the HCPS pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with some of them asking if they could run the race again! Overall, Hadleigh finished 2nd in the event which was fantastic. Well done Year 5/6!

 

 

Under 11's Girls Football Festival

On Thursday 11th October 2018, Hadleigh CPS entered a team in the Under 11's Girls Football Festival at Whitton Sports Centre. There were a total of 14 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 2 where we played matches against Whitton, Ranelagh, Claydon, Gusford, Hillside and Whitehouse. The girls played some great football throughout the league matches, managing to win 3, draw 2 and lose 1. This sent them through the to the semi-finals where they came up against The Oaks. Unfortunately, The Oaks came out on top win a 1-0 victory. However, this meant the girls got the opportunity to play for 3rd and 4th place against Hillside. After a 1-1 draw, Hadleigh managed to win the penalty shootout.  This resulted in the girls finishing 3rd overall which was fantastic! Well done girls!

 

 

Under 11's Boys Football Festival

On Thursday 4th October 2018, Hadleigh CPS entered a team in the Under 11's Football Festival at Whitton Sports Centre. There were a total of 24 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh were put into League 3 where we played matches against Bawdsey, Dale Hall, Shotley, Hillside and Whitehouse. The boys put on a great show throughout the league matches, managing to win 3, draw 1 and lose 1. This sent them through the to the quarter-finals where they came up against Halifax. Unfortunately, Halifax came out on top win a 2-0 victory. Nevertheless, the boys had a great time and performed well as a team. Well done Year 6!

 

 

Year 4 Cross Country Event

On Friday 28th September 2018, we took 12 pupils to compete in the Year 4 Cross Country event at Hadleigh High School. There were 8 schools that entered the event. They were: Hintlesham, Elmsett, Beaumont, Kersey, Whatfield, St. Mary's and Bildeston. For both the boys and girls race, the children had to run a distance of 1,800 metres. There were around 80 children in the boys race, and around 50 children in the girls race. All of the HCPS pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with some of them asking if they could run the race again! Overall, Hadleigh finished 3rd in the event which was fantastic. Well done Year 4!

 

 

Year 5 Dodgeball Festival

On Friday 14th September 2018, we took 12 Year 5 pupils to participate in a Under 11's Dodgeball Festival at Hadleigh High School. There were 7 schools in total that competed in the festival. They were: St. Marys, Elmsett, Bildeston, Kersey, Beaumont and Whatfield. Each school played 3 rounds of dodgeball against every school which were always fast, action-packed games. All the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves during the festival and can't wait to till the next festival! Well done Year 5!
